Life Coaching

The most successful performing artists,
athletes and business leaders
have all developed partnerships with
coaches or mentors over the years.

  • Do you want a new direction, but aren't sure where to start?
  • Are you seeking more balance in your life?
  • Would you like to improve your relationships with others?
  • Do you want a new career?
  • Do you want to be healthier, more calm, or more in control?

Life coaching works on your creative potential. It helps you to create a clear vision of who you want to be, and what you want to do with your life. This is based on your future potential, and NOT YOUR PAST.

You will identify and replace any unhelpful beliefs, assumptions and behaviours which are preventing you from being who you wish to be.

Life coaching enables you to be more proactive in your life. Being proactive is the opposite to being reactive. When you are reactive you allow outside circumstances to govern how you feel, think and behave. Learning to be proactive helps you to get what you want out of life.

You create a proactive future with your coach by:

  • becoming aware of your deeply held values through a process of enquiry.
  • creating and shaping a life plan according to these values.
  • replacing beliefs, assumptions and behaviours that do not serve you.
  • creating a plan of action with your coach, and then DOING it, step by step.
  • committing to practice, accountability and evaluation with your coach.

Instead of being blown around by circumstances, you can create your own map and plan for the future. Then, with our ongoing support you can go on to achieve it.

Your coach stays in touch with you by phone, skype or email between appointments. He/she will support you and to help you through any obstacles or resistances to change.

Depending on your needs, you may also learn some of the following skills within the life coaching process:

  • Assertive behaviour
  • How to cope with Grief, Loss or Change
  • Stress Management
  • Anger Management
  • Giving and Receiving Criticism
  • Listening skills
  • Budgeting
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Values Identification
  • Body Language
  • Performance skills
  • Time Management
  • Whole Brain Learning

Kate Kalin worked with jobseekers and employers from a wide range of industries whilst employed by the New Zealand Employment Service (now WINZ) from 1977 to 1981. Kate assisted employers to create on the job training programmes. She was also involved in developing pre-employment courses for those entering or re-entering the workforce. Kate ran the first 'Womens Positive Action Programme'in New Zealand which supported women to enter non-traditional jobs when there was a shortage of male labour. She worked with employers from many industries to make their workplaces available to women. From 2002-2008 as part of her work Kate delivered workshops in 22 schools on behalf of University College Cork. These workshops encouraged teens to take stock of their personal attributes, strengths and passions as they consider study choices for their career pathways.
